I have done a number of commissions in both oil and pastel over the years and have found the opportunity to create something personally meaningful for someone else opens areas of creativity and content that I hadn't imagined on my own. It is collaborative. If I feel that I can't envision what the client sees, I decline, but it is rare that someone approaches the the idea of a commission without already considering my style and previous work.
